Japan Giveaway #2 Winner & Japan Giveaway #3: Ultimate KitKat Tasting Experience

The randomly selected winner of the Japanese Kitchen Set in Giveaway #2 is: UnwrittenLifeBlog – congratulations!! I will be contacting you by email this afternoon and will get your prize off to you as soon as possible. Once again, I want to thank everyone that entered for the lovely comments. I have the best readers, and wish I had a prize to give to everyone that entered.

I’ve saved what I think is a very fun prize for the last giveaway this week: the Ultimate KitKat Tasting Experience! Inside the red cloth pouch above are 13 different flavors of snack-size Japanese KitKats.

The flavors the winner of this giveaway will receive are:

Top Row: Shinshu Apple, Japanese Strawberry, Dark Chocolate, Rum Raisin, Okinawan Sweet Potato

Middle Row: Matcha (green tea), Wasabi, Cherry Blossom-Green Tea, Sake, Roasted Tea

Bottom Row: Strawberry Cheesecake, Melon, Raspberry

This giveaway will end on Wednesday, April 19, at midnight HST, with the winner announced the following day. The rules for this giveaway are the same as for the first two plus one new way to win an entry:

  • Comment on this page. You can comment every day until the giveaway, but just once a day. The more entries you have, the greater your chances of being chosen the winner! I will post the link a couple of extra times during the week. Commenting in another post will not count.
  • Subscribe to “The Occasional Nomads.” If you are already a subscriber, you will receive one extra entry. Please comment below and let me know that you are already a subscriber or that you just joined.
  • Post about the giveaway on your own blog, if you have one, and receive one additional entry.
  • There’s also an extra way to earn an extra entry this time: Guess which one is my favorite! I won’t answer in the comments, but if you guess right I’ll add an extra entry to your total.

The winner will be announced in the blog and also notified by email. You must respond by comment to the blog or to the email to receive your KitKat Tasting Experience (I will email you back to find out where to send them). Also, I can only mail to addresses in the U.S. and Canada.

Looking forward to hearing from you – you know you want to try them!

I think once you mentioned the Matcha ones as a favorite? That would be my guess 🙂

My husband loves Kit Kats. His mother was from Japan. This would be such a fun treat for him!

I am a new subscriber but a very long time reader 🙂

    Hi Laura,
I’ve been subscribed for many years. Love your blog! I don’t have a blog. I thought you said on your trip to Japan a few years ago, that Matcha green tea was one of your favorite Kit Kats. 😊

Oh, this would be great. When I travel, I tend to look for any new flavors of potato chips I can find, and I’ve found a few doozies.

Japan sure has some ‘interesting’ flavors of potato chips. Right now there is a potato chip panic there – flooding up on Hokkaido destroyed the potato crop, so Japanese companies will only be able to make a limited amount of chips this year. Bags that used to cost $2 each are now selling for $15!!

another entry, another change. My mom got her first package from japan today thru Amazon. Flower kisses candy. Not sure what the flavors are because I can’t have it and everything is in Japanese but she likes it and that is all that matters.

My Sunday entry. Nice that there’s a Kit Kat that includes cherry blossom flavor. It’s cool to see how cherry blossom is incorporated into special seasonal items in Japan, like the Starbucks Sakura Blossom Cream Frappuccino with Crispy Swirl that I’ve read about.

Happy Monday! Two years ago my ukulele teacher shared with our class some Kit Kats from his trip to Japan. I can’t remember the flavor, but it was some sort of cheesecake. The unusual thing about them is they were supposed to be heated before eating. My husband ate my piece (I was on a diet) and he didn’t bother to heat it!

Happy Tuesday! Here is to one more entry for those Kit Kats. They have been the topic of conversation for several days with the kids. I told them if we didn’t win I would try to order some online just so we could sample a few. I smile just listening to them agonize over what flavor they should order.

Tuesday entry. Not a Kit Kat-related comment, but since I have cut down drastically on carbs, I was wondering how oyakodon works without rice. The rice base seems so vital to soak up the yummy sauce. Maybe I could try serving it over Trader Joe’s riced cauliflower, which is becoming my go-to rice substitute.

I think the riced cauliflower would be an OK substitute, except that it has a bit more flavor than regular rice, and could clash with the topping. I’m actually enjoying not eating the rice – the toppings all by themselves have been delicious!
